Not to go too deep into the debate on this issue, but I will say that I believe that since homosexualtiy brings down population growth I have no problem with bills and other legal ways to discourage this behavior. As some would say that they are born gay, I would beg to differ, maybe we have just evolved, if we did "mother nature" is having one big laugh.
No Death Benefits for Studds's SpouseIt is being reported that Gerry E. Studds's, the first openly gay congressman who by the way had sex with a teenage page no outrage there from his party, husband has been denied death benefits under the defence of marriage act, signed by Clinton. Many say we should allow civil unions and maybe we should, but we should also discourage this behavior from ever even happening. Many say the reason 50, 100, even 200 years ago there were no openly homosexual people is because they were in the closet or the outhouse, well I beg to differ. The reason this behavior was not seen was because it was discouraged, people had a foundational belief in the God of the Bible, but now the god of the world is slowly seeping this into our culture, as he has throughout the rest of the western world, and history.
Now this is acceptable behavior, and heck we all live for today to do what feels good, right? Right, if there is no tomorrow, if everything is relative, if we are all just monkeys who evolved, why not live for today, since there is no tomorrow? Evaluation will kill us.
I think back to the Bible in Romans Chapter 1, and then I look at the former superpower Rome and think that they were victims of their own folly. We too will be the victims of our choices if we continue to allow this behavior to be justified. I don't think we should shun these people just their behavior, I don't hate homosexuals I hate homosexuality. This is not a perfect world, but there are things we can all do to make it better. One of those things is to not allow people to think that this behavior is ok, just as we do for pedophiles, polygamists, or even adulteress.
The wrath of God is

God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual
impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and
worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is
forever praised. Amen. 26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.
27 In
the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and
were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts
with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their
perversion. 28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile
to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind,
to do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of
wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder,
strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;
31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
32 Although
they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve
death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve
of those who practice them.
Wow that does not sound like Rome that sounds like America.
Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand!!!!!!!
